This works on a principle called photoplethysmography, which means the changes in the volume of blood in an organ is measured by the changes in the intensity of the light passing through that organ hence the emitted light from the LED will be received by photosensor only when there is blood in the vein hence measuring the pulse. The output signal is further conditioned and filtered to give the final output. To connect the sensor module to any Microcontroller like , connect to VCC and GND to power it and get the output from Analog pin connect it to any pin with ADC on the board. The positioning of the sensor is important. It should always be put over a vein with slight pressure to hold it in place. Also, it has signal conditioning components that are also onboard the module, so do not touch it with wet hands.
